Manufacturing Automation - Asphalt Plant

Staley Automation were engaged to assist with the upgrade of an asphalt plant in Central Victoria. This project involved integration of a new Asphalt mixing drum into an existing plant. The aim of the project was to improve the quality of the product and to increase the efficiency and throughput of the plant while increasing the range of products the plant produces.

Manufacturing Automation - Safety Upgrade of Plastic Manufacturing Plant

Staley Automation recently worked together with a plastics manufacturer to audit the safety of machinery following a Worksafe investigation.  Staley Automation engineers worked with the client to identify the safety hazards and together calculated a risk analysis of the dangers found on site.  The engineers also proposed solutions and provided a preliminary design to minimise the hazard.


​The solution included the following:

  • ​Develop a functional description of the safety control system

  • Operator training

  • Separate zones on the machine to isolate local area

  • Access control

  • Motor stand-still detection
